Wonder what kind of fan mail Superman gets sent to the Daily Planet? What happens when someone wants to harm him through the mail literally? Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #35 from 1959 has the answer.

"One day in Metropolis, as a circulation stunt for the Daily Planet, Jimmy Olsen answers mailed-in questions about Superman! Who else but Superman's young pal can satisfy people's curiosity and tell of the super-exploits performed by the Man of Steel? Yet the cub reporter finds he knows all the answers... Except one! And that one is the most important of all, involving the fate of his super-pal, in...

The Menace of Superman's Fan Mail!"

The whole 9-page story under the cut, plus responses by comic readers and DC's usual defensive, condescending replies. *chuckle*

Superman gets to lick envelopes at least 4 times in this story! ;)

'If Superman answers these three questions I'm asking, he'll die!' )

DC: 'You've got your calendar all mixed up, Bob.' )

I love the music from the 40's and 50's. I thought I'd upload two popular songs that appeared at the time this comic was released. :) "Sleep Walk" appeared in the same year and "All I Have To Do Is Dream", another great hit from that time, hit the radio stations a year before.

Download:
- Sleep Walk by Santo & Jonny (1959)
- All I Have To Do Is Dream by The Everly Brothers (1958)

It's great to listen to the songs while reading vintage Superman comics... To get in the mood and all. Swell. :) I'll pick some romantic ones when I post Lois and Clark comic scans!
