This promised icon set's been in the making since November last year but because of Heath Ledger's untimely death, I've postponed it until now. A day doesn't pass that I don't think about him but that is a topic for another entry.

Originally when I started preparing this set, the intro said: "I'm so in love with The Dark Knight already. One of the best sequels of all time, perhaps? CAN'T WAIT, OMFG. And Heath Ledger's Joker? Probably the role that will define him as an actor. Gay cowboy? Not anymore! He's the bloody JOKER."

Then Heath passed away and I could not bring myself to finish the icons. The Joker, at least to me, was dead. An actor I was *this* close to pronouncing my favourite, was gone, and with him went a character I was obsessing over almost as much as I do with my beloved Superman (and that's saying a lot). Not even Superman could soothe me.

But I was wrong because Joker lives on in Heath's performance, just like dear Heath lives on in our memories. It took me a long time to realize it. He'll never be forgotten as long as we remember him. Here's to you, Heath, and thank you for everything. You are missed.

Icons include Batman, Joker and Bale and Ledger in other roles as well. Plenty of animations (see my current icon). Sorry for the delay! Real-life stuff's been very crazy for months (and there is a giant hole in my wall ^^). Things will be back to normal soon.

27 icons of Equilibrium (2002), one of my fave not just Christian Bale movies but movies in general. I'm shocked this movie doesn't have a bigger fandom! Bale was amazing in the role and I iconed/animated some of my fave action scenes. *spazz* He was like Bruce Lee and Neo mixed together. *flails like Kermit*

What a character role for him! He plays a 'Cleric' (sort of like an elite super policeman) in a "perfect" futuristic world where people have to suppress their emotions. Because of it there is no war in the world. No murder. But at what a cost? In a world where showing feelings is against the law and punishable by death, Cleric John Preston finds himself reevaluating everything he ever knew...

I'm a total Cleric John Preston fangirl, yes. Oh, Preston. And the action! The "gun fu"! Bale kicking everyone's ass with seeming ease! Bale and PUPPY = FOR THE WIN! I also love the idea of Clerics with martial art skills and I dig the Bruce Lee style coats. Even the white outfit Bale wore at the end was VERY Bruce Lee. It made me so happy.

This batch is focusing on Christian Bale and Brandon Routh. There's a new Superman/Batman set (Superman Returns/Batman Begins crossover) that I've promised, I can make lots more if anyone's interested! You don't always get the chance to make crossovers like these.

I was thinking of doing a World's Finest music video, too (the scenes on the animated icons gave me lots of ideas). I see now that it's possible. Probably with some majestic movie soundtrack song. I'd prefer instrumental music in this case.

There were originally tons more icons icons but I had to trim the number down, I'll be posting the rest next time (comics, Tintin, other Christian Bale movies, etc). :) I did move the Equilibrium set over here.

Another icon batch, not the Christian Bale one I've mentioned earlier (haven't finished that one yet!) but comics related. :)

The icons are from the Superman run, Action Comics, Superman/Batman and Supergirl.

Lots of Gary Frank's Reeve-ish Superman and young Clark, plus some of my other faves such as Dustin Nguyen's Routh-ish Superman (I hope it's not just me who sees the resemblance?) and Pa Kent wearing the Super suit, aww. :)

I've made a manipulated image of Clark and Lois from Superman Returns for bradygirl_12's 2007 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge. Since the challenge covers the movieverse as well, my inspiration were Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth.



The challenge asked for Halloween-inspired art that incorporated at least some of the prompts listed, such as certain Halloween-y food, colors, traditional elements, potpourri, time period, etc. I went with a Clark/Lois picture set in the past, way before Superman was created. Maybe it's a bit Elseworlds or AU? The period seems to be 1890 - 1910. The idea was to make it pretty creepy at first but it ended up looking sweet and romantic instead, hehe! I had sooo much fun working on it.

Setting: It's Halloween. Clark and Lois are already married. Lois is arranging the flowers Clark brought her. There's also a pumpkin and a fruit basket on the table (some of the challenge's prompts ^_^).

More icons today! Some are for the Clark Kent Challenge. :)

Mostly from Superman Returns, with lots of focus on the amazing plane rescue scene, and some Clarky goodness again. I'll be making more of these, this is only the first batch, continuing from my previous one on Superman III. Woot!

I've added a few from Smallville (Clark gets wet and is generally cute) and Batman Begins aaanddd last but not least, there are icons of Superman and Batman together (Returns/Begins crossover)! "World's Finest" movie = a WASTED opportunity for Warner Brothers. So, so wasted.

Bring in Bale and Routh into a movie like this and see the box office results! But, oh, wait, they didn't do that because an awe-inspiring flying dude and a genius with a cool utility belt aren't enough to bring in the crowd! Gah.

Another icons batch today!

This isn't my usual style for mini-movie icons but the simpler design allows for more animation frames because it isn't crowded and eating up file size (which is only 40kB max on LJ). A simpler style suits Superman better, anyway. :)

I've started with Superman III which I don't dislike nearly as much as some fans, I'm even very fond of the movie. The wire work is amazing and the flying never looked better, Clark does the dorky dance (see icon!), cute Lana adores him ♥, Clark eats dog food, Lois > Bermuda, dark!Superman OWNS all, creepy robot/android woman scaring the children everywhere (hey, she freaked me out when I was a kid!), Superman freezes a lake, Superman saves a man drowning inside a car, toy penguins catch fire, etc etc. So many moments I love! Plus, TAR = unknown substance in Kryptonite LOL. All in all, the Clarky goodness in this movie is spoiling me.

Other icons in this batch include Superman Returns and the Look, Up in the Sky! documentary, plus some Brandon Routh! In the end I'm hoping to post animated icons from all the Superman movies, as well as Smallville and Lois & Clark.
