In the current Action Comics #855 (another issue with Richard Donner on the team!) we have a 2-page flashback to a moment in Clark's boyhood on the farm. Clark is watching other boys playing football from afar, using his "telescopic vision" to follow the game. Like many times before, it seems, Pa Kent tries to tell poor Clark why he can't play games with other children.

Awww. He cheered up. And what a neat mention of Ben Hubbard! :)
The rest (in present time) is an amazing tale of Bizarro abducting Pa Kent and bringing him to his own cube-shaped Earth in the "vicinity of a blue sun". Superman follows him in a rocket ship but Jor-El warns him beforehand that under a young blue sun, his powers will be enhanced. Perhaps he'll even develop new ones. Wow! This is only part 1 of "Escape from Bizarro world" and I'll probably be reviewing it once it's finished. :)
It's nice to see Bizarro Superman in comics now that we're so close to Smallville's new season, waiting to see what'll happen to THAT version of Bizarro in the very first ep! Woot! Is it possible the timing is just a huge coincidence? I kind of doubt that.
I'm bringing more icons, this time 11 veeeery old-skool Superman, Clark and Lois! These come from Action Comics #1 and #7 that appeared in 1938. Can't get cooler than that.
